Yep, it’s that time of year. My favorite time of year. It’s turning into fall. I have a lot of reasons I like fall. Holidays, weather, smells…those are just a few. But another reason is football season, and this one is going to be a doozy.
Let’s start with the bad. Yup, the Bengals. This is going to be a really long season. I’m guessing they will go 4-12. It’s going to be ugly, and Mike Brown is the person to blame. As long as he owns the team, don’t expect to field a winning team (more than 1 fluke year) in Cincinnati. Palmer looked bad. Chad Johnson (I refuse to call him by his “real” name) is just a self-centered crybaby. The defense looks pathetic. Can we get some more T. J. Houshmandzadeh’s on the team? Ya know, those who just go out and perform!
But enough about the bad. I can’t dwell on it too much. Not when Kentucky is finally turning the corner in college football. Two winning seasons in a row, capped off by two bowl wins. Here comes the true testament about what Rich Brookes has done at UK. After loosing Andre Woodson, their starting running back, and almost the entire wide receiving staff…Kentucky looks like they can have yet another winning record and go bowling while in a “rebuilding” year. Their defense looks amazing. The front four have been listed as one of the best groups in the SEC (that’s saying a LOT). And when Randall Cobb finally took the reigns at QB, their offense looked capable of putting some points on the board. Ahh, what a time to be a UK fan. Football is on the rise, and Billy G is ready to get the basketball team back to UK greatness.
I’m sorry…Bengals who?
