After 4 1/2 years, I decided it was time to get a new computer. When I built our old pc a lot of people said I went a little overboard, but having one last as long as it did and still be able to play newer games was well worth it.
I hadn’t planned on building another one. I had planned on taking the easy road out and getting a custom built one from Dell or some place similar. The problem was that I wanted a gaming pc, but wasn’t willing to pay over $2K for one. So, I jumped on TigerDirect and Newegg to do a little pricing. I ended up going ahead and buying the new parts, and now we have a new pc. Call of Duty 4 looks absolutely amazing with the graphics maxed out!! Since I know the geek inside all of you is dying to know the specs, here ya go:
Motherboard: XFX nForce 680i LT SLI
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping (I overclocked to 3.3 GHz)
Ram: 2 GB Corsair TWINX PC6400 DDR2 800 MHz
PSU: Ultra X3 1000w
HD: Seagate Barracuda 500 GB, 32MB cache, SATA-300
GPU: Dual XFX GeForce 8800 GT 512MB
And for the true geeks (looking at you, Chris):
