Yep, you read that right. I’m kinda upset about this trade. I would have much rather seen them trade the strike-out king Adam Dunn, or even the aging Ken Griffey Jr (I don’t like Dunn, but I do like Griffey). Josh Hamilton has overcome so much, and to do what he did in his first season is amazing. This guy is going to be a star!
It’s not just what he does on the field either. Because of him, they had (what I believe was) their first ever Faith Day at Great American Ballpark. Bob and Larry from VeggieTales were there, Mercy Me did a concert after the game, and Hamilton spoke about his faith and what he has gone through. Maybe it wasn’t just because of him, but he was still a big part of it! All they got out of him is a top minor league pitching prospect who has mediocre numbers when he has pitched in the majors (Edinson Volquez), and another pitcher who I’ve never heard of (Danny Herrera). Hamilton put up some serious numbers as soon as he had a chance to play…after being away from the game for 3 years! I really hope Hamilton has a spectacular career, and that the players we picked up won’t end up playing horribly like the last time we traded one of my favorite players (Kearns)!
I’ve been meaning to post this for a while, but I keep procrastinating and forgetting to do it. If you haven’t talked to me in a while, or haven’t checked out my picture gallery, then you probably don’t know about the 10-point buck I killed this year! Yep, this ones going on the wall. Leslie is so happy
