I just found out that my cousin was featured on national television. He was on Fox News talking about an iodine pill that can prevent cancer in the case of a nuclear accident. If you want to check it out, here’s how to get to it.

1) Go to FoxNews.com.

2) Click on Videos.

3) Click on Health in the menu on the left.

4) Click the link for Nuke Pill.

As promised, I have the pictures of Noah up on my picture gallery. I also added pictures from when we went to Gatlinburg, I went hunting with Logan and Devon, and a few new pictures of Belle. If nothing else, you have to see Noah, he is just too cute. Enjoy!!

Well, Leslie and I went up to the Ohio Renaissance Festival today. We were going to dress up as peasents for it, but we decided it was too cold and most likely would rain. Boy, am I glad we didn’t dress up. It didn’t rain, but it was COLD! We still had a lot of fun, though. It’s always a blast to go there. Plus, the turkey leg alone is worth the drive! While we were there, we got a beeswax candle fron Broomsticks and Candlesticks. I don’t know if you’ve ever had a beeswax candle, but they are great!

After that, we over to see our new little cousin (on Leslie’s side of the family). Leslie’s cousin Jennifer, and her husband Daniel, just had a baby boy, Noah Christopher Davenport. He is absolutely adorable. I was instructing him on good burping technique and singing him the UK Fight Song (she goes to Louisville)! I have some pictures, and I will get them up as soon as I get a chance.

Well it’s time for one of my favorite holidays, Halloween. Which is kind of funny when you stop and think about it. What is one of the staples of Halloween? Candy, right?!? Seeing as I can’t have candy, you would think Halloween would bother me. Well, it actually did at one point and time. I never really enjoyed trick-or-treating, because I never got anything good. My mom had a few of our family members give me sugar-free candy or little toys, but that was it. I guess that’s why I enjoyed scaring trick-or-treaters so much when I got a few years older!! Anyway, if you know a young diabetic, know that this is a hard time of the year for them. They feel left out. There are some things you can do, however. I found an article that I think will help a lot of people. If you know a young person with diabetes, then take a moment to read this article. It has a few good ideas on how to make this wonderful holliday better for diabetics.

Thanks to Lance Armstrong, the idea of selling bracelets to raise money for organizations has boomed. Everywhere you look you see people wearing them. I didn’t want to buy one just to jump on the bandwagon, so up until yesterday I didn’t have one. When we were at Kroger’s yesterday, Leslie pointed out an orange bracelet at the pharmacy that said Max-Life on it. Come to find out, it is supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Considering I have Juvenile Diabetes, or Type I Diabetes, I thought I would get one. When we got to the car, Leslie was telling me about one for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. This bracelet has Got Guts? on it. Again, Leslie has Ulcerative Colitis (yes, we are an insurance company’s dream *cough*sarcasm*cough*). I ordered a couple of those today. You can purchase them individually by contacting the Kentucky CCFA Chapter. Since I was already thinking about these bracelets, I started checking and found out these bracelets are raising millions of dollars for research and support of different organizations. And I just thought they were a fashion statement!!

OK, so if you read the comments from my last post you noticed that I mentioned StumbleUpon. I said I would give an explanation, so here it is. StumbleUpon is an add-on for internet browsers. You choose categories that interest you, and then you can “stumble” through those categories. You click on the “stumble” button, and it randomly pulls up a site that falls into the category of your choosing. It’s a really neat way to find websites that you would probably never find. It’s pretty interesting, and you can waste a lot of time with it!

I found a neat site that has Dr. Seuss parodies. Here’s a funny one on what it would be like if Dr. Seuss wrote an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
