Are you a Will Smith fan?….me too! I think he is a very talented actor, and Parents Just Don’t Understand was a great song! Anyway, I found an article about Will Smith talking to the rap community. I think it is a great message that he is sending. Check it out:

 

Well, this was quite the busy weekend for me. Let’s see, I had to get my tires rotated, the lawn mowed, and take Belle to the vet for her checkup. I also went and played night paintball with Chris and Lori W. Some of the people didn’t enjoy it that much. I had a lot of fun. The only complaint that I had was that my mask kept fogging up. Other than that it was great. I mean really, sneaking around in the dark and shooting people….it doesn’t get much better than that!! I also went to a Red’s game with Tim, and then went to Pete’s house to swim and watch the TNA Wrestling PPV. All in all it was a fun, but busy, weekend.

Say hello to our new pet. She’s a full-blooded beagle and has 10 champion relatives in the past few generations. She is red and white, ten-weeks old, and nameless (hopefully we’ll get that figured out real soon). Here’s a picture of her. I’ll get some more pictures up in the gallery area really soon.

[Update: We finally named the puppy. Her name is Belle. She's really smart. She's already learned heel and come! We just have to work on them a little more to get her to respond every time. I have added a gallery with pictures of her. You may have to hit refresh for them to show up.]

Well, my mom called me at 6 am on Friday to tell me their house caught on fire. You talk about something that will wake you up in the morning!! Apparently, they were having central air-conditioning installed in their house. The guy installing it had a halogen light that he had set down on the insulation in the attic. Even though the insulation is flame-retardant, it still smoldered. It eventually got down to a rafter where it started burning. Luckily there was enough insulation on top of it to keep it from getting air and completely igniting. It started burning through the sheetrock, but they smelled it just in time. Another half-hour or so, and it would have burnt through the sheetrock to the living room giving it air to ignite. If that would have happened, they might have lost their whole house. There’s still some damage, but it could have been a lot worse.

Well, this was my first official weekend off in my new position. Yep, that’s right…no more weekends. Granted I will have to carry a pager about one week a month, but that’s a few months down the road. Anyway, it started with Lori coming over and spending the night. Then I spent Saturday evening with James and Serina. We went up to Dayton to watch the Raw roster from WWE put on a house show. That was a blast!!! We actually got a “you screwed Brett” chant going when Earl Hebner reffed his first match, and we were no where near Canada….fun times. Then on Sunday, I actually mowed the lawn. While that might not seem like much fun, it was the first time I have actually mowed the whole lawn. I have to say we have a really big yard for a push-mower!! After that, we went to Lakeside’s concert at Devou Park. It was pretty good. I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn’t so tired from mowing the lawn! Still, it was a good weekend.
