Well, I just thought I’d let everyone know that Leslie is in the hospital. They don’t know what’s wrong yet, so there keeping her there until they get the tests back. She’s having a lot of pain in her stomach/abdomen area that won’t go away. They think it may be bacterial, so they are waiting to treat it until they know exactly what antibiotic she would need. Please keep her in your prayers and I will update everyone as soon as we find something out.

Well, after the Red Sox won the World Series, both Bush and Kerry congratulated them. Kerry was congratulating as a fan, and Bush was just being professional and congratulating them. One of the players, however, made his opinion known on the issue. Curt Schilling voiced, “Tell everybody to vote. And vote Bush next week” on ABC’s Good Morning America. Bush of course thanked Schilling for the support, and invited him to make a few appearances on the campaign trail.

So why would a Red Sox player be so vocal about his views against a “long-time fan” (besides the whole political aspect of it)? Well, maybe because he isn’t such a big fan after all. Back in July, Kerry reported being a big fan of “Manny Ortez” and also stated “my favorite Red Sox player of all time is The Walking Man Eddie Yost”. If your not a baseball fan, let me explain the problem. There is no “Manny Ortez” on the Red Sox. There is a Manny Ramirez and a David Ortiz. And as far as Eddie Yost goes, he never played for Boston….EVER!! Yeah, big Red Sox fan. Oh yeah, did I mention that when Kerry threw the first pitch out at the game, he couldn’t even get it to home plate. Check out the articles below.

After 15 years, the Bengals got the chance to play on Monday Night Football at home again. And man, were they ready. They went out and looked like a playoff calibur team, winning 23-10. Of course, Chad Johnson had 149 yards receiving and a touchdown and I didn’t start him on my fantasy team. Oh well, I won anyway. Hopefully the Bengals will keep playing like this. If they do, they will be tough to beat. Who knows, maybe it won’t take another 15 years to get MNF back in Cinci.

I missed what had to be one of the funniest and most painful things to watch on live television Saturday night. Ashlee Simpson was caught lip-singing on SNL. It wasn’t like her lips were a little off, she wasn’t even moving her lips. Some people are comparing her to Milli Vinilli. To be fair, that isn’t very accurate. At least it is her own voice. Well, to the best of my knowledge it’s her own voice. Of course, the really painful part is the little ‘hoedown’ she did after the wrong song started playing in the background. I’ve seen better moves on a one-legged Riverdancer! This is a major setback for her, too. She’s been trying to get out of the shadow of her more talented and prettier big sister, Jessica. Oh well, maybe her next hit will be how people laughed at her on SNL, but look at her now. Below is a link that has a video clip of the mistake.

John Kerry likes to talk about how we need to keep jobs in America. While I completely disagree with him (I think he needs to go to college and take some economics classes to learn about globalization), I also think he needs to look at his wife’s company, the Heinz company. I took this excerpt from an article on the Heinz website:

“H. J. Heinz Company today is an enterprise with over 110 major locations worldwide, with leading brands on six continents.”

Wow, those are a lot of jobs that could be in America, huh! Problem is that they can get cheaper labor and resources elsewhere (that’s called a competitive advantage in economics). Bringing those jobs to America would raise the cost of Heinz products. You don’t see Kerry arguing against something that is making him money though. The link below is to the article from which the excerpt above is from. Try doing a little research about the Heinz company and their worldwide manufacturing. Where is Kerry in bringing those jobs back to America?

Matt posted this on Chris’ website and I thought it was hilarious! It just goes to show that nobody can disagree with Kerry, because he agrees with everything (did I mention that this is HILARIOUS)!

Well, I posted on Chris’ Website that I hoped the World Series would be between Boston and St. Louis, but I didn’t think it would happen. The main reason I said that was because at the time the Red Sox were down 3-0 to the Yankees. That was before they did something that has never been done before in MLB, by coming back from a 3-game deficit to win a series in the post season. Then tonight, the Cardinals won their game 7 thriller over the Astros. So amazingly, it’s the St. Louis Cardinals -vs- Boston Red Sox in the World Series. I’d like to see the Cards win, but I wouldn’t care if the Red Sox won. Either way, at least it won’t be the Yankees!!

Lori sent this to me and I thought it was pretty funny:

The European Union commissioners have announced that agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty’s Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five-year phased plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish (Euro for short). In the first year, “s” will be used instead of the soft “c”. Certainly, sivil servants will resieve this news with joy. Also, the hard “c” will be replaced with “k.” Not only will this klear up konfusion, but typewriters kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome “ph” will be replaced by “f”. This will make words like “fotograf” 20 per sent shorter.

In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of silent “e”s in the languag is disgrasful, and they would go.

By the fourth year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing “th” by “z” and “W” by “V”. During ze fifz year, ze unesesary “o” kan be dropd from vords kontaining “ou”, and similar changes vud of kors; be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters. After zis fifz yer, ve vil hav a reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil b no mor trubls or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech ozer. Ze drem vil finali kum tru.

I was thinking the other day about how cool it would be to have a job as a sports announcer. You get to travel around watching sports, and putting in your two cents. Then I came to the realization that I could never be a sports announcer. Why, you might ask? Well, I think I’m too smart. Yes, really! Think about it. When is the last time you heard a sports announcer make an intelligent comment? Ninety percent of the time, they say really stupid stuff. I’m watching the Vikings and Saints game on ESPN right now, and I can’t stand to listen to the announcers. I love ESPN and especially Sportscenter, but they have the dumbest announcers in the world. Just a second ago they said Randy Moss doesn’t have human DNA. So, he’s either an alien or an animal. I haven’t figured it out yet. Anyway, the next time your watching sports on television, take note of how many times the announcers make a dumb comment. It’s scary!

Well, Friday was my last day on second shift. I’m back to first shift again…yay. I’ll miss second shift, though. I really liked the environment and I learned how to fix a lot of stuff I wouldn’t have learned on first shift. But now I get to have a social life again! Hizzah!
